VISIT

NAVEL is located at 1611 S Hope Street in Downtown Los Angeles in a loft warehouse space. Check the Calendar to see what’s coming up, as hours vary with each program and event.


PARKING

Parking in the lot attached to our building is managed by JAZ Parking. To park in the lot, simply scan the QR code and download the app found on the signage posted in our parking lot. Payment is made directly in the app and is usually $10 flat for the day.

The following paid parking lot is also available nearby:

  • 520 Pico Blvd. on the corner of Pico Blvd. and Hope Street

    • Rates: $12 daily max, except during major events at Staples Center, then $30


ARRIVAL INSTRUCTIONS

The address of the building that houses NAVEL is 1611 S Hope Street. Putting this address into a GPS will drop you off at the entrance to our building, which is not the main entrance to the NAVEL space. Our entrance is located on the opposite side of the building, in the alleyway located between the two buildings on our site.

To find NAVEL’s entrance in the alleyway, go left from the gold double doors located at the main building entrance on Hope Street, turn right to enter the parking lot behind the building, go straight until you see a sign that says “Fear<” and then turn right to go down the alleyway towards Venice Blvd. Our entrance is the last door on the right. 


PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

If you’re arriving via Metro, the closest station is Pico Station on the A (Blue) and E (Expo) lines. By Bus take the 33 to Venice/Hope, Dash to Olive St. and Washington Blvd., the 14, 78, or 76 to Grand/Venice, or the 460 to Flower/Venice.


ACCESSIBILITY

NAVEL is located on the second floor of our building and requires climbing one flight of stairs and 26 steps from our alleyway entrance. Inside there are two bathrooms which are accessible for wheelchairs up to 27” wide located on each side of the bar/kitchen. 

To access the elevator at our Hope Street entrance, please call 213-340-4213 upon arrival. During events, a NAVEL staff member or volunteer is present to escort guests to the elevator.

At outdoor events in our alleyway, a private, wheelchair accessible portable restroom is available. There are no stairs to access the alley.

We offer live closed-captioning for online Zoom events.

Admission to events at NAVEL is often free and almost always has a sliding-scale option. All ages are welcome unless otherwise specified. Some events may feature loud music or flashing lights.

COVID-19 POLICY AND POLICIES

The safety of our guests, staff, and Los Angeles community is our first concern. Under current Los Angeles City Covid-19 restrictions, we are able to return to regular operations and full capacity in our space. However, Covid-19 is not over, especially for those that are not vaccinated. We encourage our guests to get vaccinated and to review Los Angeles County’s COVID-19 Guidance for Event Venues & Cultural Institutions. Additional guidance can be found from the City of Los Angeles here.

Our current COVID policy:

  1. Masks are optional for those who are fully vaccinated. Vaccination status must be proven via physical or digital vax card + matching photo ID before entering the space. We will work together with all rental clients to establish a system to check for vaccine status at entry.

  2. Masks are required indoors, except when eating or drinking, for unvaccinated guests or guests who cannot prove their vaccination status.

  3. We recommend those who are working at an event wear a high filtration mask (KN94, KN95 or N95) during their shifts, however they are not required. If you would like our staff to remain masked during your event, please notify us when confirming your booking details or send a reminder to space@navel.la.

  4. If you are feeling sick or have a cough/fever, please get tested and join us another time.
